Synchronising Carburettor Throttle Valves

Writer's picture: KaiKai

Welcome to a mini tutorial on how to synchronise throttles in a carburettor after a complete rebuild using iron bearing balls.

Step one: Check the status quo

Step two: Adjust throttle 2 and 3 first.

Step three: Adjust throttle 1 and 4

hey bud,

thanks a lot for posting such a good information,

whats the base point on the screws after replacing them,

should the butterfly be completely closed?? I understand carbs #2 & #3 should be in sync and take them as reference to adjust #1 & #4.

thanks !

Replying to

TB's numbering them 1 to 4, 4 being the TPS end.

Use 3 as datum/reference

the adjusting screw to the left of 4, adjusts 4

the adjusting screw to the right of 2, adjusts both 1 and 2 together.

the adjusting screw to the right of 1, adjusts 1

so do them 4, 2 and 1 all compared to 3
